The Warm Puppy Cafe sits snugly near the ice rink at 1667 W Steele Lane in Santa Rosa, making it a perfect stop for anyone looking to grab a casual bite or warm drink while watching local skaters practice or perform. This cafe brings a low-key, cozy atmosphere flavored with plenty of Snoopy-themed charm, reflecting its close connection to the nearby Charles M. Schulz Museum and ice arena.

The vibe here leans into nostalgia and comfort. Warm lighting, playful Snoopy decor, and seasonal music create a relaxed setting that’s especially inviting on chillier days. The cafe draws a mix of museum visitors, families, and locals who appreciate the mix of casual dining and people-watching, particularly on weekends or in the afternoon when ice training is in full swing.

Menu-wise, The Warm Puppy Cafe leans on cafeteria-style classics with a twist. The tuna melt sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich are popular for a reason—simple, fresh, and satisfying without fuss. Fries come crispy and well-seasoned, and sweet treats like the poppyseed muffin or chocolate chip cookie offer a quick grab-and-go indulgence. While coffee and hot chocolate are staples, the specialty Snoopy-themed hot chocolates stand out with unique, rich flavors that fit the cafe’s cozy, playful personality.

This spot suits those looking for a light lunch or snack while soaking in the ice rink scene or coming down from the museum’s cultural pace. Parents with kids, museum-goers, and locals out for an afternoon break all find a comfy reason to stay a while. The casual tables inside let you settle in without feeling rushed, making it a friendly neighborhood pause point rather than a destination for long, leisurely meals. Service feels easygoing and familiar, contributing to that neighborly feel.

Timing your visit for a late-morning or early-afternoon stop means you can enjoy warmer drinks while watching skating sessions unfold through large windows—a bit of local life blending with timeless cartoon nostalgia. Whether in for a quick hot dog meal with a souvenir bowl or just to sip on a festive hot chocolate, The Warm Puppy Cafe offers a simple, down-to-earth experience that feels rooted in the community and the unique local culture surrounding it.

I loved all the snoopy decor, everything was so cute and fun. I ordered the snoopy special, which was a hot dog, lays chips, and a plastic souvenir dog bowl for $10 total, along with a root beer float. both were pretty good but I was mostly happy about getting a souvenir for pretty cheap haha (it doesn't show on the picture, but there's a small black "warm puppy" logo with snoopy and woodstock on it). the cafe was connected to the skating rink but we didn't check out that other side as we were only there for lunch.

After an enjoyable visit to the museum and a quick cartoon drawing class in the education canter we took a walk over to the Warm Puppy Cafe. Food was great and came out very quickly. Was fun to watch the ice skating team train for thier next performance while we enjoyed a snack. Staff was very friendly. Certainly is worth a try when you’re in the area.

Warm puppy cafe was so nostalgic! Had the warm lights and Christmas music on and felt like an old Christmas movie from the 90s. You can watch people ice skating from the cafe too! The tuna melt was surprisingly so good, fries were perfectly crispy and salty. Hot cocoa was soooo sweet though.

Cozy place to get a hot drink and watch people on the ice rink year round. First visit to the snoopy museum so it was very nice :D

The Warm Puppy Cafe is such a charming little spot! I tried both the Gang hot chocolate and the Snoopy hot chocolate—and they were both delicious. The Gang had a Reese’s-style peanut butter flavor that was rich, chocolatey, and so cozy. The Snoopy was smooth and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. Perfect for a chilly day! Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area—great drinks and super cute vibes!

Sept 2025. Only 62 reviews? It's a 5-star review for a 70-80s style diner/cafe. The Warm Puppy is a cafe built into the lobby of the Redwood Empire Ice Arena. The arena and cafe were built by Charles Schulz. A museum dedicated to the author of Peanuts is across the street. A table dedicated to Charles (Sparky) is set aside with a 'reserved' sign waiting for the talented - but humble - genius to arrive. It's a cafe folks. It's just fine for what it is. We ordered sandwiches with fries. They were good and reasonably priced. Staff had trouble with English, but they created delicious sandwiches in a timely manner. What else do you expect?

We stopped in for lunch after spending some time at the museum next door. It was pretty busy during lunch but the crowds disappear fairly quickly if you are there after 1pm, and we easily found seating in a cozy corner during the lunch rush. We each had the breaded chicken strips and fries and they were both fantastic. The chicken strips are full breasts and were cooked perfectly and juicy. That dish comes with ranch but we had to go back and ask for some but no biggy really. The staff was friendly and efficient. The little cafe has a large window area so that everyone has a good view of the ice rink. We arrived while hockey players were practicing and then it transitioned into public skating. One of the coolest things at the cafe are all the stain glass windows with Peanuts characters doing their winter things. Even if you don't ice skate I'd recommend stopping in for a bite and some relaxing cool relief from the summer heat.

We absolutely loved our experience at The Warm Puppy Cafe! The service was great, very kind staff, and the hot chocolate was so tasty! It was fun to have so many hot chocolates to choose from. The cafe was warm and inviting, I love that it feels like traveling back in time in the best way possible.
